The CamVigil Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to all products and/or services provided by the CamVigil Platform, including the CamVigil App (mobile client) and the CamVigil Wechat mini program (collectively, the "Services"). When you use our Services, we collect and process information about you, so please read this policy carefully and make sure you understand our rules for the collection and processing of your personal information (including how we collect, use, store and share such information), and how we provide you with access to, update, delete and protect this information.

When you agree to this Privacy Policy, or begin or continue to use our products or services in an appropriate manner, and do not contact us by appropriate means to express a contrary opinion, we will consider that you have fully understood and agreed to this Policy. Definitions in this policy

Personal Information: Information recorded electronically or otherwise that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify an individual or to reflect the activities of a particular individual.

Sensitive personal information: including personal biometric information, communication records and content, health information, transaction information, precise location information, etc. When we provide you with specific products or services, involving the collection of sensitive personal information, we will collect sensitive personal information about you through a prominent and explicit notice to obtain your consent.

Smart device: refers to the hardware produced by the manufacturer that has a human-machine interface and can transmit information through a wireless network non-standard computing equipment, including smart household appliances, smart cameras, smart photo frame equipment, etc.

Applications: Mobile applications developed by CamVigil that enable end users to remotely control smart devices and connect to the CamVigil Internet of Things (IoT) platform.

 

What personal information do we collect

In order to provide you with our services, we will ask you to provide the personal information necessary for such services. If you do not provide personal information, we cannot provide you with the corresponding products or services.

 

1.Information you voluntarily provide to us

Register Account Information: When you register for an account with us, we collect your account name and contact information, including your email address, username, and login credentials. During your interaction with our products, we may further collect nickname, country code, language preference or time zone information in your account.

When you choose to authorize the use of a third-party account to log in, we will obtain your shared account information (default system profile picture, nickname, region information) from the third party and bind it to your CamVigil account for quick login. We will follow the agreement with the third party and the terms of sharing personal information in the privacy policy published by the third party. Use your personal information in accordance with relevant regulations.

However, if the service you use or purchase is based on your account information, please go to the registration/login page to register or log in.

User feedback: When you use our services and submit feedback and suggestions related to the services to us, we will collect your email address, mobile phone number and feedback content (added pictures or videos), as well as submitted problem logs, which will be used to give us timely processing of your application problems and smart device-related failures.

At the same time, depending on the application products and services, CamVigil will collect the corresponding and necessary personal information to provide you with the products and services.

 

Information collected based on additional features provided

 

In order to provide you with more convenient and better quality products and/or services in an effort to improve your experience, we will collect and use your personal information in the following additional services provided to you. If you do not provide this information, it will not affect your use of the basic services of the CamVigil application, but you will not be able to obtain the user experience provided by these additional services. These additional services include:

 

Additional services based on location information:

When you enable the location function of your mobile device with system authorization and use location-based services, we collect and use your location information to enable you to network with your smart device using the CamVigil application. And when you use our specific products or services (weather services/home management), based on your consent, we collect real-time precise or imprecise geolocation information about you. the add device function requires location permission (Android only) and requires Bluetooth scanning. Based on search for nearby devices, Bluetooth requires request for location. Otherwise, device adding will be affected.

Additional camera/camera based services:

You can use this feature to scan code after enabling camera/camera permissions to add your purchased device. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable the camera/camera permissions, we will only obtain information when you actively scan the code and use the camera/camera to shoot. The scanning function collects the information of the light sensor and determines whether the flash function needs to be displayed based on the data of the light sensor.

Go to [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Settings] - to turn on/off [Camera/Webcam].

 

Additional services for photo/video access and upload based on photo albums (photo library/video library) :

You can use this function to upload your photos/pictures/videos after opening the album permission, so as to provide proof of reporting device usage problems. When you report a problem with your device, we will use the photos/pictures you upload to locate your problem.

 Go to [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Settings] - to turn on/off [Album] permissions.

Additional services related to microphone based voice technology:

After enabling the microphone rights, you can use the microphone to achieve voice functions, including shooting video, waking up the voice assistant. In these functions, we will collect your voice information to identify your command needs. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable microphone rights, we will only obtain voice information through the microphone when you actively click the microphone icon in the app or record a video.

Go to [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Settings] - to enable/disable [Microphone] permissions.

 

Additional services based on storage permissions (Android) :

We ask you to obtain this permission for the purpose of ensuring the stable operation of the client. After you enable the read/write permission of your device storage, we will read or write the necessary information of pictures, files and crash log information from your device storage space to provide you with the function of publishing information or recording crash log information locally.

Turn on/off the storage permission by going to [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Permission Settings].

 

Additional features based on message notification permissions:

We apply for this permission in order to push notifications about products or services to you, especially when you purchase the relevant services, you need to send alarms to you so that you can capture the real-time situation.

Turn on/off the "Push Message" permission by going to [My] - [Message Center] - top right [Settings].

 

Additional features based on "Floating window" (Android) :

We ask you for this permission to display live camera footage in the floating window when you have a camera attached to the application.

Turn on/off the floating window permission through the permissions management settings of your mobile system

 

Additional services based on Bluetooth technology:

You can enable Bluetooth functions after enabling Bluetooth permission, including device control, device status acquisition, device discovery & device distribution network. In these functions we will communicate with the terminal device through Bluetooth. Please be aware that even if you have agreed to enable Bluetooth permission, we will only use Bluetooth for communication in these scenarios: Display device status on the home page and device panel; Device control on the home page and device panel; On the home page and Add Device page, you can discover devices and configure devices.

You understand and agree that the above additional services require you to enable your location information (geolocation), camera (camera), photo album (photo library), microphone (voice), internal and external storage, floating window, & Bluetooth in your device in order to enable the collection and use of information related to these permissions. You can view the status of these permissions item by item in your device settings, and you can turn them on or off at your discretion.

Please note that if you turn on any permission, you authorize us to collect and use relevant personal information to provide you with the corresponding services. If you turn off any permission, you cancel the authorization. We will no longer collect and use relevant personal information based on the corresponding permission, and we will not be able to provide you with the corresponding services. However, your decision to turn off permissions will not affect the collection and use of information previously conducted under your authorization.

 

2.Information we collect automatically

Mobile Device information: When you interact with our products, in order to ensure your normal use of our services, maintain the normal operation of our services, improve and optimize our service experience and protect the security of your account, we will automatically collect mobile device information. This includes mobile device model, login IP address, wireless connection information, operating system type and version, application version number, push notification identifiers, log files, and mobile network information. At the same time, we collect your software version number. In order to ensure the security of the operating environment or to provide services, we collect information about the mobile apps and other software you use, as well as a list of apps installed (for the purpose of monitoring the performance of apps).

 

Usage Information: During your interaction with our Website and Services, we automatically collect usage information related to visiting, clicking, downloading, sending/receiving messages and other use of our Website and Services.

Log information: When you use our application, in order to improve your user experience, system and exception logs will be uploaded for analysis, including your IP address, spoken language, operating system version, date or time of access, so that we can accurately identify problems and help you solve problems during the use of the Service.

Please note that individual mobile device information and service log information are not information that can identify a specific natural person. If we use such non-personal information in combination with other information to identify a specific natural person, or use it in combination with personal information, during the period of combined use, such non-personal information will be regarded as personal information, unless authorized by you or otherwise provided by laws and regulations, we will anonymize and de-identify such information.

 

3.Information about smart devices

When you use a smart device, we collect information inherent to the smart device itself and information generated during your use of the smart device.

Basic Smart Device information: When you use a smart device connected to our products or Services, we collect basic information about the smart device, including the name of the smart device, device ID, online status, activation time, firmware version and upgrade information.

Information collected during the connection of the smart device: Depending on the type of smart device you need to connect to, whether it is via Wi-Fi connection, via Wi-Fi after establishing a local connection via Bluetooth, via Bluetooth connection or via Zig-bee, we collect the Mac address, Wi-Fi information (SSID, BSSID) of the smart device.

Information about smart device reports: We collect information about your smart device reports based on the different smart devices you choose to connect to our products or Services. In order to help you better understand the use of our Services, the following smart devices are used as an example, and the information reported by them is only applicable when you use this type of service:

For example: When you voluntarily use Smart Camera (IPC Service) and connect to CamVigil platform: You connect the doorbell, door lock and smart surveillance camera with a camera through the CamVigil Service to monitor the safety of your home or view the monitoring content. After you add the device and use the smart camera, when the device recognizes a person or object moving, the smart camera will capture the monitoring screen (in picture format) for you to view. The smart camera will capture the monitoring picture (in picture format) for you to view, and the information will be automatically uploaded to the cloud for you to save, but we will not use this picture for additional purposes, and automatically delete this information after the retention period. When you actively select and successfully purchase cloud storage value-added services, the smart camera will upload the video you shot to the cloud for storage, so that you can replay it on the application. We will retain your video information according to the cloud storage service you purchased, and it will not be used for other purposes. When you choose to delete images in advance in the CamVigil application, you can delete them in the message center. If you need to delete a video and execute the command on the app, the cloud will respond to the deletion command and immediately delete the video you have chosen to delete. Please note that when you choose to turn off the motion detection function, the smart camera will not actively record the captured picture, which will affect your intention to use the smart camera.

 

Purpose and legal basis for processing personal information

We process your information for the following purposes:

 

To provide you with Services: We process your account information, mobile device information, usage information, location information and smart device-related information in order to provide the products and Services you request. The legal basis for such processing is the performance of our contract with you in accordance with our User Agreement.

 

Improving our Services: We process your mobile device information, usage information, location information and smart device-related information to ensure the functionality and security of our products, to develop and improve our products and Services, to analyze the efficiency of our operations, and to prevent and track fraud or misuse. The legal basis for such processing is the performance of our contract with you in accordance with our User Agreement.

 

Non-marketing communications: We process your personal information for the purpose of sending you important information relating to changes to the Services, terms/conditions and policies and/or other administrative information. At the same time, we will also send you notifications related to your purchase of services, including alarm services. You can check the related information ([My] -  [Settings] - [Message Center] - [Push]) in the CamVigil application to manage whether you request to receive such message communications. When you choose to turn off push notifications, we will no longer push such messages to you. The legal basis for such processing is the performance of our contract with you in accordance with our User Agreement.

 

Functional experience upgrade plan: In order to enable you to better enjoy the convenience brought by smart devices, we will analyze your use of CamVigil Services or smart devices, analyze your related products or use scenarios so that you can better enjoy the convenience brought by our products, we will use your connected smart device information to recommend other smart devices that can be intelligently linked with your tied device (smart device recommendation service). If you do not consent to our analysis of your data, you can turn off your selection by going to the CamVigilApp's Privacy Settings ([My] - [Settings] - [Feature Experience Upgrade Plan]). The legal basis for such processing is based on your consent.

 

Personalized Recommendation services: We process your account information, usage information, mobile device information, provide you with tailored services based on the type of device used (including recommending and displaying product information and advertisements suitable for you), and invite you to participate in user surveys of the products you use. Such information is necessary for personalized recommendation to you. If you refuse to provide this, we will not be able to recommend personalized information or services for you and are unable to show you recommended purchase services, send targeted push messages. At present, CamVigil does not make automatic decisions on the processing of your personal information, but only provides scenario-based recommendation services based on the type of your smart device. If you do not consent to CamVigil processing your personal information for personalized services, you may turn off your selection when entering the CamVigil app or in the Privacy Settings in the App ([My] - [Settings] - [Personalized Recommendation Services]). The legal basis for such processing is based on your consent. Please note that the basic scenario recommendation function only provides the available scenario services (including device automation and convenient execution) based on your distribution network device, and does not provide personalized recommendation services.

 

Compliance: We process your personal information only when we are required to disclose it by law, or when we believe it is necessary or appropriate to:

(a) comply with applicable laws and regulations, legal procedures or requests from public bodies and government authorities;

(b) enforce our Terms of Use and other agreements, policies, or standards, including investigating any potential use violations;

(c) protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of us and/or other users, including you;

(d) as well as seeking available detection, prevention, remedy or limitation of damages that we may be required to provide or resolve security, fraud or technical issues.

We also use the personal information we collect from you in other ways, providing specific notice at the time of collection and obtaining your consent as required by applicable law. In the event of any change in the purposes for which your personal information is processed, we will notify you of such changes by email and/or a prominent notice on our website and inform you of your choices regarding your personal information.

 

With whom do we share your personal information?

CamVigil only shares your personal information in a way that you are aware of. We share your personal information with the following participants:

Disclosing your personal information to third party service providers who provide certain business-related services to us, including website hosting, data analytics, payment and credit card processing, infrastructure provision, IT services, customer support services, email delivery services, and other similar services to ensure that they are able to provide services to us.

Disclosing your personal information to customers and other business partners who directly or indirectly provide you with smart devices and/or networks and systems that you use to access and use our websites and services.

Disclosing your personal information to affiliates or other third parties in the event of a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or a portion of our business, assets or stock (including, without limitation, in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings). In this case, you will receive clear notice via email and/or our website of the change of ownership, incompatibility of new ways of using your personal information and the choice of your personal information.

We will reasonably and lawfully share your personal information when it is necessary or appropriate to:

In addition to the above third parties, we only disclose your personal information to other third parties with your consent.

When you use the services provided by third parties, we will share the corresponding information after ensuring that the third party has obtained your authorization and consent, and in other circumstances in accordance with laws and regulations. Transfer of collected information

CamVigil operates globally, so the personal information we collect in accordance with this Policy may be transferred, stored and processed between countries or regions. The laws and regulations applicable in the country where we operate may differ from those applicable in your country of residence, but we will strictly comply with the laws, regulations and requirements related to the protection of personal information (see CamVigil Global Data Centers and Storage). Therefore, under the framework of personal information protection, in order to facilitate our operations, we may transfer personal information to the countries or regions where we do business. Regardless of where your information is stored, our privacy and security practices are designed to provide global protection for your personal information.

For example, the European Commission has identified mechanisms for adequate protection of personal information in certain countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland. When the personal information of users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom is transferred to a recipient located outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom who is not considered to have an adequate level of data protection, we ensure that the "EU Standard Contractual Terms" are complied with for the transfer of information. In particular, personal information collected and generated by our operations in the United States is stored and processed in data centers in the Eastern United States, except where cross-border transfers are permitted under applicable law.

Rights relating to personal information

We respect your rights and keep your personal information.

If you decide to send us a request by email, please indicate what information you would like to change, whether you would like your personal information to be removed from our database, or what restrictions you would like us to have on using your personal information. Please note that for security reasons, we will ask you to verify your identity before further processing your request.

You may exercise your rights in relation to your personal information through the following specified paths:

Access to Personal Information: If you request access to the personal information we process about you (that is, apply to us for a copy of your personal information), you can obtain information through the application of [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Policy management] - [Personal Information Export];

Right to amend Personal Information: If you ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information about you, you can amend the information in the following two ways:

Right to delete Personal information: If you request to delete your personal information, you can go to the upper right corner of [My] - [Settings] - [Personal Information] - [Logout account], according to the prompt, you can cancel your account and further delete your personal information;

Right to revoke the processing of Personal Information: When we use your personal information based on your consent or our legitimate interests, choose to object or refuse our use of your personal information, please refer to the following "Withdrawal of consent" processing method to cancel your consent to processing:

1) As mentioned above, you can change the permission Settings obtained in the device system Settings through the application's [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Permission Settings] and revoke your consent, including location, camera/camera, album (photo library/video library), microphone, Bluetooth Settings, message notification push and other related functions;

2) In non-marketing communications that you agree to, turn off your selection by going to My - Message Center - Settings;

3) When the data you agree to is used to analyze the function optimization service related to you, turn off your selection through [My] - [Settings] - [Privacy Settings] - [Feature Experience upgrade Plan];

5) Unbind the smart device through the application, and the information about your use of the smart device will not be collected;

6) If you have previously voluntarily agreed to associate your CamVigil account with a third party service, such as a third party health platform, please unbind it on that third party platform.

When you withdraw your consent or authorization, we are unable to continue to provide you with the services corresponding to the withdrawal of authorization. However, your withdrawal of consent or authorization does not affect the withdrawal of previous processing of personal information based on your consent.

Information security measures

We use commercially reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to maintain the integrity and security of your personal information. CamVigil provides a variety of security policies to effectively ensure the information security of users and devices.

For device access, we use CamVigil proprietary algorithms to ensure data isolation, access authentication, and authorization applications.

In terms of data communication, it supports communication using secure algorithms and transmission encryption protocols as well as commercial grade information encrypted transmission based on dynamic keys.

In terms of data processing, strict data filtering and verification as well as a complete data review process are used.

In terms of data storage, all confidential information of the user will be securely encrypted for storage.

In addition to the above technical security guarantees, CamVigil has also formulated a series of security guarantees at the system and control level, including job assignment and responsibility, security and privacy protection training courses, strengthening employees' awareness of data protection, control of access rights and other measures to prevent data loss, illegal use, unauthorized access or leakage, tampering or damage.

If for any reason you believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, you believe that the security of your CamVigil account has been compromised), please let us know immediately by sending an email to After-saleservice011@outlook.com as described below.

In the event of a security incident affecting the security of your personal information, we will notify you at the first time through your reserved email address, telephone number, message center push and other means, and inform you of relevant risk reduction or prevention suggestions and other information. When necessary, we will take corresponding remedial measures in a timely manner in accordance with the internal security incident emergency plan, and report to the relevant competent authorities in accordance with regulations.

 

Information retention period

We will process your personal information for the shortest period necessary to achieve the purposes stated in our policy or as required by laws and regulations, unless it is necessary to retain it for a longer period in accordance with specific legal requirements. We will determine the appropriate retention period based on the quantity, nature and sensitivity of the personal information, and we will destroy your personal information at the end of the retention period.

1) Products and services to meet your request in accordance with the User Agreement and this Policy;

2) When you explicitly request the deletion of your personal information, we will set this as a task and no longer retain your personal information.

When we confirm on the basis of 1) that the personal information has completed the purpose of collection and processing, or after we confirm your deletion or deregistration application in accordance with 2), or we terminate the operation of the corresponding product or service, we will stop retaining and delete your personal information. In general, we will no longer retain your personal information once the specified retention period has been reached. If we are unable to destroy the information for technical reasons and as a result the personal information is retained beyond the storage period, we will take appropriate measures to prevent further use of your personal information, including anonymization.

 

Protection of children's personal information

CamVigil takes the protection of children's personal information very seriously. If you are under the age of 14 (or the required age in your country), you must read the CamVigil Children's Privacy Protection Statement carefully and obtain the prior written consent of your parent or legal guardian before using our services. CamVigil protects children's personal information in accordance with the relevant regional, national or regional laws and regulations. Please note that if we become aware that a child's personal information has been collected without the prior consent of a verifiable parent or legal guardian, we will try to delete the personal information as soon as possible.
